Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will be meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican this Wednesday, 23 October. Pope Francis has already met the Israeli President, Shimon Peres, King Abdullah of Jordan, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Holy Land: Israel authorises 'savage' settlements in West Bank
The Palestinian presidency  and human rights groups have strongly condemned the decision of the Israeli government to authorize three illegal settlements in the West Bank. The move of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu comes three days after it received a letter in which Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for the freezing of settlement constructions as a precondition for the resumption of peace talks.
