Sister Pia Buxton RIP
It is with sadness that we have learnt that Sister Pia Buxton CJ died at 8pm last night, 3 October, at St Joseph's Community in York, after a short illness. May she rest in peace.
Sr Pia was a member of the Congregation of Jesus, a much-loved Ignatian spiritual director, former head of the Conference of Religious, writer, counsellor, retreat leader, sister and friend to many. More information and tributes to follow.
Margaret Harvey writes: I was saddened to receive the news. Pia was a very special person, a gracious lady and a kind and generous friend to many of us. I feel very privileged to have known her, to have been many times in her presence and to have witnessed a person of great faith. She had an aura about her and a gentleness and nobility of soul. She will be sadly missed.'
