Archbishop Nichols: 'My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Norway'
The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster and President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales expressed his condolences to the people of Norway yesterday, the feast of the Scandinavian Patron of Europe, Saint Bridget of Sweden.
The Archbishop said: "My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Norway, especially those who have lost their lives, the injured and their loved ones.
"May God grant a merciful welcome into heaven for those who have died and grant strength and faith to those who are mourning and injured."
Archbishop Nichols added: "I pray, too, that the people of Norway with be strong in the solidarity they show and resolute in their peaceful resistence to all violence."
