Appeal to save Garden of Gethsemane

I was shocked to hear that the authorities in Jerusalem have applied for planning permission to build an army training school on the Mount of Olives. The building work will involve the destruction of the Garden of Gethsemane - where Jesus prayed on the night before he was arrested and later crucified. This is a sacred place where pilgrims of all faiths have come to pray for centuries. It is almost impossible to believe that the Israeli authorities could allow this to happen.
