Iraq: Ten years of lamentation, partnering and action
Ten years after the US-led invasion of Iraq, Christian Peacemaker Teams, together with uncounted Iraqi families, are lamenting the carnage that continues to echo from that moment. More than 120,000 civilians have been killed, 4,488 US military and 178 British soldiers lost ther lives. More than 2.7 million Iraqis, among them, a large percentage of the Christian population, have become refugees.
Reports sent by the Christian Peacemaker Teams, (CPT) before, during and after the invasion have brought rare, non-embedded perspectives and helped earn CPT a reputation for reliable, independent reporting, broad partnering and bold action.
