Amos Trust update from Gaza
Amos Trust writes: In response developments overnight on the Gaza border, many supporters have been in touch to ask if there has been any news from our partners in Gaza since the rocket attacks began and asking what they can can do.
We have had through a report from our partners the Near East Council of Churches in Gaza City, where we support their youth training programmes. Written before the attacks intensified, the report describes increasingly desperate conditions for ordinary families - running water and sanitation are at crisis point and electricity restricted to a few hours a day due to lack of fuel. The result of the bombing of the supply tunnels to Egypt and farms is that food and supplies are dwindling. Read & download the full report.
Unsurprisingly we have not heard directly from our friends at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, however the NECC report states many essential drugs & medical supplies are no longer available in Gaza, which along with water and electricity supply cuts mean that staff have had to make difficult decisions about treating those with long term illnesses. Please pray for the staff there doing their best to help people in terrible circumstances.

Please join us praying for Gaza. We have updated the words of our Prayer for Gaza and are asking Amos supporters to join us praying at 5.30pm on Friday 11 July to coincide with the protest at the Israeli Embassy.
"...O God hear the cry of Gaza.
May freedom come - may healing come - may hope come.
May they be treated as we would like to be treated.
We pray for the people of Israel because there will be no peace for them until the occupation ends and the siege is over - no peace for them until justice comes to Palestine...."
