Remembrance Day film: Priest who gave his life for his flock

Emil Joseph Kapaun was born in 1916 on a farm near Pilsen, Kansas, the son of Czech immigrants. He was ordained a Catholic priest, and became a United States Army chaplain in 1944. He died as a prisoner of war in Korea in 1951. In his seven months in the Korean prison camp, Father Kapaun had spent himself in heroic service to his fellow prisoners. In 1993, he was declared a Servant of God by Pope John Paul II and was presented, posthumously, with the Medal of Honour by President Barack Obama in 2013.

In this video, produced by Real Life Catholic, Chris Stefanick pays tribute to a soldier and heroic priest who continues to inspire all who hear his story.
