Cardinal Vincent Nichols to preach in Romero Week

There will be Masses and events across the country once more in March 2015 to celebrate the ministry and martyrdom of Archbishop Oscar Romero. Tuesday March 24th will be the 35th anniversary of his assassination. There is great hope and expectation that, on or before that March date, Pope Francis will make a formal announcement that Archbishop Romero is to be beatified. This year Cardinal Vincent Nichols will preach on Saturday March 21st at the national ecumenical service to mark the anniversary which takes place in St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Trafalgar Square, London.

The theme of this year's Service is 'Romero's Martyrdom - A faith that does justice'. Cardinal Nichols is one of the Patrons of the Archbishop Romero Trust who are organising the Service in conjunction with St Martin-in-the-Fields. The Service begins at 11am and all are welcome.
