London: Welcome to Spirit in the City
London's Spirit in the City festival starts this Wednesday. For the next four days, people of all cultures will be gathering for a celebration of faith in the streets and squares of the West End - and four churches: Notre Dame de France in Leicester Square, Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory in Warwick Street, Corpus Christi in Covent Garden and St Patrick's in Soho Square.
The festival opens with a performance on the Three Witnesses play, based on the Gospel of Luke, performed by the Saltmine Theatre Company on Wednesday 10 June 2015 at 7.30pm. To book see: www.bit.ly/3wtickets
Thursday's events conclude with Mass with Bishop Nicholas Hudson at Warwick Street. Friday's workshops will take place in St Patrick's Soho, with Adoration in the church in the afternoon. In the evening priests will lead a procession from St Patrick's to Corpus Christi in Covent Garden.
An all day festival will end the celebrations on Saturday 13 June. There will be live music, street theatre, a prayer tent and street ministry. A final Mass to close the festival will be celebrated by Bishop Alan Williams of Brentwood at Notre Dame de France at 6pm.
