Father of Palestinian child killed in arson attack dies of burns

The father of baby Ali Dawabshe, who was killed in arson attack by Jewish extremists on 31 July, died of severe burns today (Saturday). Sa'ad Dawabshe, 32, had been treated in intensive care at Beer Sheva hospital in Israel since the attack. His wife Riham, and four-year-old son Ahmad are in the same hospital fighting for their lives.

There have been reports of another petrol bomb attack overnight on another house in the same village, Duma, near Nablus in the West Bank.

Palestinian news agency Ma'an, report that "extremist Israeli settlers" attacked a Palestinian home with petrol bombs and rocks this morning. The agency said two fire bombs were hurled at the house, and landed on its outer wall, but did not cause any injuries.

Israeli media report that internal security service have arrested three young Israeli men in suspected of violent acts, including an arson attack in June on the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes.

The senior United Nations official in Jerusalem, Nickolai Mladenov, expressed expressed sadness over the death of Sa'ad Dawabshe and called for the perpetrators of the "heinous terrorist act" to be brought to justice.
