Coventry commemorates 70th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

A special service commemorating the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was held in the Chapel of Unity, Coventry Cathedral on Sunday night.

Candles and Japanese origami cranes were placed as symbols of our commitment to ending nuclear weapons.

Among those taking part in the service were Minister Motohiko Kato, the Deputy Ambassador of Japan, Minister Motohiko Kato, the Very Reverend John Witcombe, Dean of Coventry, Sandra Noel, Shintaro Shinguchi from Hiroshima and Ann Farr from Pax Christi.
