West London school raises funds for leprosy charity
Just before the October half-term Year 8 pupils and teachers at St Benedict's School in Ealing presented Sue Davies from the charity Lepra with a cheque for a massive £1363.25. To raise the money, the pupils participated in a 'Fun work-out' at the end of the summer term, completing well over 4000 star jumps and other exercises during the session.
Lepra is a UK registered international charity focusing on people suffering from leprosy, who find themselves trapped by disease, poverty and prejudice and it helps them to improve their health, lives and livelihoods.
The picture shows Matthew Gutaj and Francine Kearney, together with Mr McCarthy, Year 8 Master, presenting Sue Davies with the cheque.
