New Director for Missio
Bishop Declan Lang, the Chair of the Trustee Board of Missio has announced the appointment of a new director for the charity.
Bishop Lang said: "I am pleased to announce that HE Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples in the Roman Curia, has appointed Fr Anthony Chantry as National Director of Missio, England and Wales.
"Missio is the Pope's official charity for overseas mission and is part of the worldwide network of Pontifical Mission Societies. It is the Holy Father's chosen instrument for sharing the Gospel and building the Church throughout the world.
"As the former General Superior of the Mill Hill Missionaries, Fr Chantry brings a wealth of experience of mission and the solidarity of the universal church, to this ministry.
"I wish him every success in this role which is pivotal to our understanding and support for the mission of the Church, both in this country and overseas.
"I would also like to acknowledge the valuable contribution made to Missio by Canon James Cronin and wish him all the very best in his new appointment within the Archdiocese of Southwark."
