Medaille Trust seeks (paid) Diocesan Representatives


The Medaille Trust is looking to recruit Diocesan Representatives in Birmingham, Northampton, Clifton (Bristol) and Leeds.

Minimum 16 hours per week with some weekend work.

Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/17 (Renewable)

£5,990.40 per annum

The Medaille Trust was founded in 2006 by a number of religious congregations in response to the plight of thousands of people who are being trafficked into the UK each year. The Trust was established as a charity and opened its first safe house in January 2007. A major part of the Trust's work is to raise awareness of the plight of those who are enslaved and exploited in the trafficking industry, and campaign on their behalf.

The Diocesan Representatives will represent the work of the Medaille Trust and increase sustainable long term funding sources.

Through talks, Mass appeals and presentations the tasks of the Diocesan Representative are to:

• Request the prayers of those present at their talks
• Raise awareness of the evil of human trafficking
• Increase the number of active benefactors
• Encourage donations
• Explore new leads
• Increase sales of Mama Margaret stock (Kenyan craft items)
• Provide timely and accurate management information

Successful candidates will have knowledge and understanding of the role of voluntary agencies and charities.

You will have good IT and administration skills and will be happy to work on their own initiative, under pressure and to targets. You should also have networking skills to be able to liaise with external agencies and experience of working with a wide range of individuals.

You will possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the ethos and social teaching of the Catholic Church and be sympathetic with the aims of this Catholic Charity and comfortable attending Mass/Worship.
