Pax Christi calls EU to suspend economic relations until Israel respects international law + PETITION

Illegal settlements on Palestinian land

In the wake of Israel's approval of the settlement expansion bill which legalises 4000 homes in illegal settlements, the EU Foreign Affairs Council stated that these settlements are contrary to international law and an obstacle to a negotiated peace agreement between Israel and Palestine. Furthermore the proposed meeting of the EU-Israel Association Council has been postponed.

Pax Christi International calls upon the EU to take a much stronger stance towards the Israeli government in condemning policies incompatible with the human rights clause of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. The EU should consider suspending economic relations until Israel respects International law.

The position of Pax Christi is understandable for Israel is the name mentioned in the Gospel, sometimes we can even hear God of Israel, etc, thus if Israel on earth isn't examplary it can undermine the meaning. Therefore Pax Christi is right.

Israel must make an effort for Israel as regards apartheid in South Africa has been the supporter of the appartheid regime, like Israel is the supporter of the dynatic dictatorship of Togo that has sent its militia to Israel where it get trained and sent back to Togo to be source of suffering to millions and millions.

The respect of laws isn't a sign of weakness but that of greatness for the necessary harmony of the whole, its parts must be harmonious in mutual respect.
International law has its pertinence when it applies to all. International law cannot be circumstantial nor categorical.

We are all human beings.
