Christian groups pray at Kingsnorth Climate Camp
Today, a group of Christians from different denominations have gathered to protest and pray at Kingsnorth Power station in Kent. They are joining campaigners calling for the closure of the station and an end to plans to expand it People from I58, the Student Christian Movement and Christian Ecology Link have been at the camp all week running a cafe and participating in the peaceful event. They have held a prayer meeting each evening and are joining today's carnival march to protest the plan to build the first UK coal-power station for 33 years. Rosie, one of the cafe volunteers, said "there must be no resurrection of coal-fired generation in the UK. The future of creation depends upon no new coal."
