London: hospital chaplain awarded MBE

In the Queen's Birthday Honours list, announced on Saturday 24th June 2006, Father Cedric Stanley, chaplain at Harefield Hospital, was made an MBE for his work counselling patients and comforting the bereaved.
Father Stanley Father Stanley is the Priest of St Paul's Roman Catholic church in Harefield and has worked at Harefield hospital for last 18 years.
He has been involved in NHS chaplaincy for almost 50 years.
Father Cedric Stanley commented:"To be included in the Queens birthday honors is very special. I would like to think it represents all Chaplains of different denominations and faiths combining work in parishes and hospital chaplaincy, which has become more difficult in recent years. I have been so fortunate to be supported by all at Harefield hospital - a humbling and uplifting experience."
Nick Hunt, site director at Harefield Hospital said: "Congratulations to Father Stan for receiving an MBE. He works tirelessly for the hospital working alongside patients and staff of all faiths and always has a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. It's thoroughly deserved!"
