Two minutes' silence for bomb victims
People across the European community will be holding two minutes' silence at 12 noon today, in memory of the victims of last Thursday's bombings in London. In the capital, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor will be leading prayers in the Piazza outside Westminster Cathedral. A commemoration will be also be held at King's Cross at midday. All buses and businesses will stop across London and millions are expected to come out onto the streets to observe the silence. At 1pm books of condolences will be opened in Trafalgar Square for all Londoners and visitors to the city to sign throughout the day. At 6pm Londoners are invited to a vigil in Trafalgar Square to remember those who died.
