John Bell

John Bell

Christian musician John Bell, a founding member of the Iona Community, is lead the annual inter-Christian meeting of the Arundel & Brighton Diocese. The day, will be a reflection on the ecumenical nature of Jesus' mission and expressed through scripture, experience and music.

John is based in Glasgow and works with his colleagues in the areas of music, worship and spirituality. His publicity says: "He does not have a mobile phone, driving licence, camera, i-pod or wife. He has never traced his family origins, played a guitar, or eaten a Big Mac!"

He is one of the founder members of the Wild Goose Resource Group which provides music for Christian Worship. He is a hymn writer, author and occasional broadcaster on national radio and television, but retains a primary passion for congregational song. Many of his songs are in use in churches across the country from Sunday to Sunday. His songs have also been used on Songs of Praise on numerous occasions.

John Roberts, the Mission & Unity Adviser said: “We believe that this will be a wonderful day, challenging all of us to engage with the Jesus of the Gospels, to deepen our commitment to work more closely with each other as Christians but also to have our hearts lifted in song”.

Prior booking is essential for this event as large numbers are expected. To book a place contact Sue Fellows at DABCEC on 01293 651163 or e-mail sue.fellows@dabnet.org
