Westminster Cathedral: Mass for Christians killed in Iraq

A Mass for Christians killed in Iraq will be celebrated at Westminster Cathedral, tomorrow, Friday 26 November at 7pm. The Mass will be for all those who died or were injured in recent weeks in Iraq, especially in the bombing of Our Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad on 31 October this year.

The Mass, which will be attended by the Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires to the UK, senior Iraqi Church leaders and Orthodox Christian Bishops as well as members of the Iraqi community and aid agencies such as Aid to the Church In Need, will also be an occasion to pray for peace, justice and hope for all the people of Iraq. The gospel will be sung in Aramaic.

The Most Revd Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster is to celebrate the Mass in Westminster and Bishop William Kenny, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham, will preach.
