Westminster Abbey service marks arrival of Torch of St Benedict

The Chapter of Westminster Cathedral took part in a service at Westminster Abbey on Thursday to mark the arrival of the Torch of St Benedict in the UK. The service received a message of greeting from Cardinal Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

On Thursday 3 March at 10.30am, Mass was celebrated at Westminster Cathedral to mark the presence of the Torch of St Benedict in London by the Archbishop of Westminster, The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols in the presence of Abbot of Monte Cassino, Pietro Vittorelli and the Archbishop of Spoleto - Norcia, Renato Boccardo.

Abbots of Benedictine monasteries in the UK and a delegation of monks from the Abbey of Monte Cassino also took part.
