Church groups in march against cuts

Church groups from around the UK will be joining a national march through London on Saturday 26 March to protest over government cuts which are having a disproportionate effect on low income households.
Church Action on Poverty, Housing Justice, Student Christian Movement, Young Christian Workers, United Reformed Church, the National Justice & Peace Network and other churches will be among Christian groups taking part. The march will call for alternatives such as investment in the green economy and the Robin Hood Tax.
The march will be preceded by a service of commemoration for Archbishop Oscar Romero at 11am at St Martin in the Fields church in Trafalgar Square. Christian groups will gather at 12.15pm on the north side of St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square to join the march as it comes through the square. From there it will continue to a rally in Hyde Park.
