Two of Europe's finest boys choirs in concert collaboration
The Warsaw Boys Choir and the London Oratory School Schola will be singing together in a special concert this Friday, 6 May at Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon, west London.
The programme will include Polish music and the second London performance of Roxanna Panufnik's Schola Missa De Angelis in a new version for strings and choir.
Schola Director, Lee Ward, said: "..this is a tremendous opportunity to hear the renowned and celebrated boys from Warsaw and we are delighted to be joining them on a rare visit to the UK.
"The 'Schola Missa de Angelis' is a wonderful work based on the ancient plainsong and, to my mind, is even better in this new version for strings and choir. The rich and harmonically lush music of both Roxanna Panufnik and several other Polish composers make this a fitting concert, especially so near to the Beatification of Pope John Paul II."
