Why don't Catholic churches in the UK have bells?

  • Eva Ullian

Do you know the reason few Catholic churches have bells is because they are not allowed to have them? Catholics should ask to have this archaic law which continues to penalize them removed.

(As relations between our Churches have improved so much I hope this law goes soon and we hear more Catholic church bells ringing.)

I was also impressed that St Edward's bell of Westminster Cathedral was allowed to ring for the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee but not for the birth of Christ, His death or Resurrection!
