Rome: English College to host CAFOD's 50th anniversary Mass

The VEC, Rome
To mark the 50th anniversary of CAFOD, the British Ambassador to the Holy See Nigel Baker will welcome CAFOD’s Director Chris Bain on November 21st for a Mass of thanksgiving and celebration at the Venerable English College in Rome for the work of CAFOD over the past 50 years.
Chris Bain said: "It is a time to give thanks to all those staff, volunteers and supporters whose hard work and generous donations have made the last 50 years possible. It is also a time to reflect on what we have achieved, and how we have fulfilled our mission, both as an organisation and as individuals."
The British Embassy to the Holy See works with the global Catholic network to further common goals: promoting international development, tackling climate change, and preventing conflict, in support of the rights and well-being of the most vulnerable, wherever they may be.
CAFOD, as part of the global Caritas Internationalis network of Catholic NGOs, plays a crucial role in this, supported by both the British government and hundreds of thousands of individuals in schools and parishes across England and Wales.
Marking the CAFOD anniversary event, Ambassador Baker said: “It is a honour to be able to celebrate CAFOD’s hard working staff and generous supporters on the occasion of this important anniversary. As the Embassy to the Holy See, we look forward to working closely with them in the years ahead.”
