Bruce Kent speaking tour of faith communities on Trident nuclear system

Bruce Kent

Bruce Kent

Bruce Kent, Vice President of Pax Christi and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and founder for the Movement for the Abolition of War will begin a month-long speaking tour on 31 March on the theme of the replacement of the £100 billion Trident nuclear system and the responsibility of faith communities to work for peace and disarmament.

A decision on whether to replace the Trident submarine fleet, the UKs independent nuclear weapons system, is scheduled to be taken in 2016. In May 2015 we have a General Election and an opportunity to challenge candidates on where they stand on Trident. Our voices must be heard now if we are to reverse this decision.

The first public meeting will be held on Monday 31 March at Milleret House Library, 23 Kensington Square Kensington, London W8 hosted by the Religious of the Assumption, Pax Christi and CND.

Bruce Kent will be joined in debate by Sir Malcolm Rifkind former Defence Minister with the Conservative Government. The meeting will take place between 7pm and 9pm and booking is essential.

Bookings via: 020 7361 4756 or enquiries@assumptionreligious.org
