Israel issues new stamps documenting historic visit of Pope Francis
The Israel Philatelic Service, Israel Postal Company has issued two special stamp sheets to mark the historic visit of Pope Francis to Israel. The first stamp sheet was issued on the day the Pope visits Jerusalem, May 26 2014 in a limited numbered edition and is almost sold out.
Now, after the visit, The Israel Philatelic Service, Israel Postal Company has produced another stamp sheet in a limited and numbered edition containing 12 postage stamps and evocative images of Pope Francis during his historic visit to Israel. Each stamp sheet is numbered like a lithograph. The stamp sheet is showcased in an attractive booklet with exclusive articles written by Henrique Cymerman, journalist, and personal friend of Pope Francis. The booklet is also features a collection of quotes from the Pope's addresses during his tour of Jerusalem.
