Lets Make Room appeal - donations doubled with the Big Give

Children at the Safe House
Starting at 10am on Thursday morning, the Thai Children's Trust is launching their Lets Make Room appeal to raise £100,000 to provide a brand new home for 92 Burmese refugee children in the Thai town of Mai Sot. Through The Big Give through the next four days, they hope to raise £50,000 to get building underway.
These children have fled violence and persecution. Back home their villages are raided, their crops destroyed, livestock killed, women and girls raped and the boys are captured and used as forced labour.
Now they are being cared for at the dilapidated Social Action for Women (SAW) Safe House and getting some education. But their home is a wooden shack where children sleep in crowded rooms and the sanitation facilities are very poor. With your help these children will have better accommodation in which to grow up and thrive.
If you give £5, your donation will be doubled to £10. With Gift Aid, that makes £12.82. Not bad for a fiver!
