A Christmas party and fundraiser was held on Sunday afternoon at London Catholic Worker's Giuseppe Conlon House in Haringey. The afternoon began with prayers - followed by musical performances, open mike performances, face painting for children and delicious food.

Based in a disused Westminster diocese church on Mattison Road - up the Haringey ladder - about eight residents and many more volunteers offer hospitality and support to around 16 homeless people and refugees at any one time. Most guests now have their own private rooms and the house has good basic facilities with a chapel, communal dining area, library, and flourishing herb and flower garden.

Regular events at the house include: Rosary for the Oppressed on the last Friday of the month at 6.30pm and Daily Prayers from Monday - Saturday at 9am. The Catholic Worker Study Group meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7pm. A Drone Watch Vigil is held at RAF Waddington on the 21st of every month from 1am - 3pm.

The centre always needs food, toiletries and household goods. Volunteer drivers, handymen/women, IT people, electricians - are also always welcome. But they stress: "prayer is most important - without this - all the rest is useless."

Giuseppe Conlon House, is based at 49 Mattison, London N4 1BG.
