London: Rt Hon Charles Clarke to give Leadership Lecture at Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School


Tomorrow, Tuesday 19 May, former Secretary of State for Education and Home Secretary, Rt Hon Charles Clarke, will be speaking at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in the first of a new series of Leadership Lectures.

Speaking on the subject of 'Politics, Faith and Religious Leadership', Mr Clarke will be drawing on his experiences both in Parliament and later as a Visiting Professor in Politics and Faith at Lancaster University. The talk will be followed by a lively discussion and a drinks reception.

All of the School's Leadership Series events are free of charge and are open to members of the public to attend. Other keynote speakers include Francis Campbell and Rt Hon Ann Widdecombe who will both be delivering talks later in the year.

Rt Hon Charles Clarke has served as Secretary of State for Education and Home Secretary. Since leaving Parliament, Mr Clarke has become a Visiting Professor in Politics at the University of East Anglia and a Visiting Professor in Politics and Faith at Lancaster University. In 2012, Mr Clarke co-founded the Westminster Faith Debates, an annual series, which brings together leading academics and public figures to debate the latest research on religion and values.
