Hampshire: Royal Navy Chaplains' farewell to Bishop Richard Moth
In true Navy fashion, Royal Navy Chaplains organised a farewell dinner for Bishop Richard Moth who was Bishop of the Forces until his recent move to the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
The dinner was hosted by Mgr Andrew McFadden, Principal Catholic Chaplain to the Royal Navy at the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre, Amport in Hampshire. Navy Chaplains were joined by Fr James Caulfield, Principal Catholic Chaplain to the RAF, the Ven Ian Wheatley, Chaplain of the Fleet as well as members of the Catholic Naval Community and Royal Navy Personnel.
Commodore Mike Wainhouse proposed a toast to Bishop Richard and the Chaplains. Mgr Andrew McFadden responded and thanked Bishop Richard for his unfailing kindness, pastoral wisdom and strong leadership for the whole Service community and said Bishop Richard was a true Padre to the Padres. He proposed the Naval toast - Fair Winds, Calm Seas, Plain Sailing and God Speed!
