London: Cardinal Vaughan School presents Into the Woods

From Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 July, pupils from the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School will be taking to the stage for this year's spectacular School Musical: Into the Woods.

A modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, Into the Woods is a humorous and heartfelt musical that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel - all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family, and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

The Vaughan is well-known for its exceptional Music Department and this year's production promises to be as popular as ever.

The School's Head of English and Director of the Musical, Shelagh O'Connell, said: "We're really excited about staging Into the Woods this year. Vocally and musically, it's one of the most challenging things we've ever done, but the cast are so strong and the rewards with Sondheim so rich, that I am sure it will pay off. Into the Woods is my favourite musical: it's clever, witty, cynical and beautiful all at once, and appeals to all ages on many different levels. I think this year's production will be our best yet. "

Tickets for the show are priced at £5 (£3 concessions) for the Tuesday, and £8 (£4 concessions) on Wednesday and Thursday.

Payment can be made either by cash or cheque, and should be delivered for the attention of the Music Administrator to the following address: The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, 89 Addison Road, London, W14 8BZ
