Yorkshire: 2016 National Conference for Rural Catholics
The 2016 National Conference for Rural Catholics takes place from 15-17 February In the very comfortable Old Lodge Hotel, Malton, North Yorkshire. This will be the 12th annual conference.
The Bishop of Hexham & Newcastle, Rt Rev Seamus Cunningham, and the Bishop of Middlesbrough, RT Rev Terry Drainey, are expected.
Highlights from the programme include an introduction to the equine world of North Yorkshire; talks on 'View from the Stable Door' and 'Racing Welfare' plus visits to an injured jockeys' rehabilitation centre and an equine veterinary practice; other talks on 'Ecology and Laudato Si, the current work of the ecumenical Arthur Rank Centre in Warwickshire, the NFU on 'Rural Crime', and Gareth Barlow a well-known farmer and broadcaster on 'Communicating Agriculture'. Bookings are coming in from across the country.
