Zimbabwe: Young people prepare for Krakow World Youth Day

About 230 young people from Zimbabwe will be attending World Youth Day celebrations in Krakow, Poland from the 25th to the 31st of July, 2016.
In preparation to this pilgrimage, the Archdiocese of Harare WYD Task Force hosted a World Youth Day update meeting last Saturday, at Rockwood Spiritual Formation Centre which was attended by young people, advisors, priests, sisters, parents and sponsors.
The Mass was con-celebrated by Archdiocese of Harare Pastoral Vicar Fr Kambire and Youth Spiritual Director Fr Maganga.
The theme for this year's World Youth Day is "Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy" (Mt 5:7). The same theme also refers to the Jubilee Year of Mercy. A mix of prayer and reflection, cultural exchange as well as socialising and networking, WYD is one of the biggest Catholic youth conventions with about three million pilgrims are expected to attend this year's celebrations.
Zimbabwean pilgrims are scheduled to spend the first week of their trip in Lourdes and are will also visit the Divine Mercy shrines among other places.
