Ealing Abbey: The Creative Little Way of St Therese this Lent
Throughout Lent, Karolina Stolarska is running a creative prayer group for Lent at Ealing Abbey - where participants will be creating visual art in response to Scripture and themes from The Little Way of St Therese of Lisieux.
Karolina writes: "St Therese and her Little Way have appealed to countless Christians and others who realise our finitude does not get in the way of true greatness.
Therese herself enjoyed composing poetry and drawing, and simple art-making has made a comeback for adults - not least through the popularity of colouring books! This return to childhood has meant finding a peaceful safe space in the tumult of contemporary life - and hopefully a turning to God the All-Loving Father.
Linking creativity with Catholic spiritual reflection - enables us to connect who we are with the truths of Scripture and the guidance of the Saints in a unique way. That's what I've found for myself and through the 'Art and Prayer' workshops and groups I've been involved with.
No skills are needed - just a willingness to try a different form of reflecting.
Basic art materials are provided such as collage, paper, pencils, paint or bring your own.
The group will be held on these Saturday mornings at 10am-12 noon at the Maurice Fowler Hall (at the back of Ealing Abbey) :
Sat 4th March
Sat 18th March
Sat 25th March
Sat 8th April
If you'd like to come for any Saturday(s) please email rozamarias@gmail.com to 'book your place' as these are limited.
