Birmingham: Catholic Medical Association AGM
The Catholic Medical Association held their AGM on Saturday 22nd April at Newman House in Birmingham - home of the Catholic Chaplaincy for Birmingham University.
After the meeting, there was lunch and time to socialise before Mr Patrick McCrystal, a pharmacist and Executive Director of Life International Ireland gave and interesting and thought provoking talk on conscience in healthcare - a pharmacists view.
Mr McCrystal's emotive and inspirational talk was greatly appreciated. He spoke most eloquently about the work he does in Ireland and about why he is so passionate regarding the importance of personal moral conscience in modern healthcare practice. Our President Dr Philip Howard also addressed the memebrs present.
We then had Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert Byrne in the Chapel and many members retired to the near by Eaton Hotel for an enjoyable dinner.
