London Premier: Singing Our Lives
The gala premiere of Singing Our Lives – music and dance inspired by the stories of refugees and migrants in the UK will take place on
Sunday 2 July, at 6pm, Milton Court Concert Hall, EC2Y 9BH
The evening will feature world premieres of two new choral song cycles: Three Faiths Forum (3FF)’s intercultural choir - The Mixed Up Chorus will be performing Singing Our Lives, written by Mike Roberts and Sarah Grange. The Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus will be premiering a new commission by John Barber and Hazel Gould, with soloist James Oldfield. Conducted by Jeremy Haneman and accompanied by Michalis Angelakis.
The evening will also feature guest performances by award-winning hip hop dance company Blue Boy Entertainment, the Sing for Freedom Choir conducted by Matthew Watts, and singing from children and parents at Rhyl Primary School.
The concert is in aid of Freedom From Torture and IOM Refugee Assistance. Tickets are free but registration is required, and a donation suggested.
