London: Thousands join March for Life

Thousands took to the streets of London on Saturday for the the capital's first pro-life march. American singer Joy Villa led the march to Parliament Square, where the crowd was addressed by Clare McCullough of the Good Counsel Network, Bishop John Keenan of Paisley and Westminster auxillary Bishop John Wilson.
Bishop Keenan said: "You have no idea of the galvanising effect your courage will have if you stand up before the British media courageously, even under attack, and be pro-life. You're setting the seeds of the next generation. We will win this battle by truth, but we will win it even more by courage."
'London Irish United for Life' joined the march and are urging Irish people to go home on 25th May and 'Vote No', in order to 'Save the 8th'. Repealing the 8th Amendment to the Irish Constitution would remove equal rights for the mother and her unborn baby and instead attempt to introduce abortion on demand into Ireland.
Life's Director of Education and Media Anne Scanlan said "What a fantastic day this was for the prolife movement, the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. So many people have come out today to show that the prolife voice is still alive and well, standing for equal rights for the baby in the womb and providing real help and support to women."
The UK March for Life began in 2012 in Birmingham to coincide with the day the 1967 Abortion Act came into effect. As the march has grown so much, the organisers decided to move it to London this year.
