The Latin Patriarchate has joyfully marked the ordination of Deacon Akram Musharbash and Deacon Khalid Qammoh at the Church of Good Shepherd following the celebrations held last week in Nazareth.

Most Rev Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, presided at the celebration which was concelebrated by Mgr Mauro Lalli, first counselor for the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali, and Rector of the Latin Patriarchal Seminary in Beit Jala Fr Yacoub Rafidi. In attendance were a number of bishops and priests, deacons, nuns, Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, students of the seminary, relatives of the new priests and a large number of people from various parts of the Kingdom.

Fr Khalid Qammoh has celebrated his first Mass, after his ordination at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla' Al-Ali, Amman. Fr Qammoh was born in Amman in 1991. He attended the seminary in 2005. He later pursued studies in philosophy and theology. He had pastoral experience for one year in Ramallah and has been ordained priest at the Church of the Good Shepherd and named as assistant parish priest in Northern Zarqa.

Deacon Akram Musharbash was born in Amman in 1986. He obtained a BA degree in 2008 in finance. He worked in a bank for three years during which he wanted to dedicate his life to the Lord. In 2011, he attended the seminary and was ordained deacon in 2017. He has been ordained priest and named to serve as assistant priest serving the parishioners of the Holy Family in Ramallah.

The Catholic Centre for Studies and Media in Jordan conveys heartfelt wishes to newly-ordained priests Fr Khaklid Qammoh and Fr Akram Musharbash in the service of the Lord.
