Glastonbury Pilgrimage - in glorious sunshine
Source: Diocese of Clifton
In beautiful weather, with the sun shining down on us, the Glastonbury Pilgrimage took place on Sunday 8th July. Our Bishop sang Mass in the ruins of the Abbey which once graced this holy place.
Well over a thousand pilgrims gathered to sing and pray to Our Lady of Glastonbury. Glastonbury is the oldest shrine to Our Lady in our country and we joined the countess generations of faithful who, from the earliest days of Christianity in England, have come here to pray.
Our Diocese is privileged to have this Ancient Shrine at her heart, and it is our privilege to come in Pilgrimage to the Virgin Mother of God. May Our Lady St Mary of Glastonbury continue to pour her blessings on us all, as she awaits our coming in joyful procession next year to sing of her glories and ask for her prayers.
Our Lady of Glastonbury… pray for us!
