Aylesford: Papal Nuncio leads Pilgrimage of the Sick

Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, Papal Nuncio to Britain, led this year's Pilgrimage of the Sick with the Society of Our Lady of Lourdes to Aylesford Priory in Kent, on Sunday 12th August.

There was the Sacrament of the Sick during the Mass and the traditional Lourdes-style blessing of sick pilgrims in the afternoon.

The Mass celebrated the transferred Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady, which is the dedication of the present Shrine.

Aylesford has permission to use blue vestments on major Marian feast days. New blue vestments were commissioned this year and were used for the occasion. Archbishop Edward spoke in the afternoon of Our Lady being a support and comfort to the sick and elderly.
