St Gregory's pupil wins Mayor of London's Christmas card competition
More than 1,000 school pupils from across London entered this year's competition to design the Mayor of London's Christmas card. The winning design, printed onto the Mayor's Christmas card, is sent to dignitaries across the world, including the Queen!
The winning entry was designed by Diza D'Silva, age 13, from St Gregory's Catholic Science College. Diza was invited to the Mayor's Christmas Carol Concert on 17 December, where she was presented with her prize by the Mayor. Diza's prize included a personal Christmas card signed by the Mayor and a £100 gift voucher from Cass Art.
The Christmas card designs of an additional seven St Gregory's pupils were shortlisted in the Mayor's competition. Those pupils were Larin De Brito, Jordan Souza, Holly Harrington, Rachel Da Rocha, Fnan Ogbagabriel, Daria Patnyek and Analey Fernandes.
St Gregory's Headteacher, Andrew Prindiville said, "This is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations to Diza and all the pupils who were shortlisted. This success is indicative of the constant encouragement of pupils by our amazing team of Art teachers. Well done to all."
