London: Carmel in the City
The first Carmel in the City of 2019 takes place this Saturday, 5 January, from 10.30am to 3.30pm at St Joseph's Church, off Lamb's Passage, Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8LE.
The day begins with a meeting go the formation group meet for reading and discussion from 'Climbing the Mountain'. There will be Quite Prayer at 11.30am. The Christmas-tide Mass of our Lady with Fr Francis Kemsley O.Carm begins at 12noon, followed by a Bring & Share Lunch at 1pm. The Afternoon Session will include a presentation on Mary in the Carmelite Constitutions and Lectio Divina.
All are welcome. The day is an opportunity to discover the treasures of Carmelite prayer, spirituality, and its prophetic tradition of service with the poor and action for Justice. Carmel in the City offers an opportunity in the heart of London to explore one of the Catholic Church's richest spiritual traditions for those thirsting for God.
