Sponsor octagenarian in London Marathon for Medjugorje orphans
David Turner, 82, will be taking part in the London Marathon this Sunday, 28th April. He has been raising funds on behalf of Arthur McCluskey Foundation for orphans in Bosnia Herzegovina for many years.
Fr Dragan Rusic, the director of Mother's Village Orphanage in Medjugorje, tells us that David is an inspiration to the staff and the children. He showed a video of David's Marathon run in 2018 so that the children can understand the efforts people make on their behalf.
Mother's Village is a Franciscan institution which has no government support. They rely entirely on donations for their survival. Families know the costs involved in raising and educating a child. Fr Dragan is faced with finding funds to feed, clothe and educate the children in his care. Each child is given the opportunity of third level education or developing to their fullest potential in other ways.
If you would like to sponsor David, please visit : http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DavidTurner10.
Every penny raised will go to Mother's Village Orphanage as the directors of Arthur McCluskey Foundation pay all charity overhead costs.Thank you in anticipation of your donation. Patricia Henry, Chair/Secretary.
