Leeds: Windows on the Word - Our Rooms With a View

Foxes emerging from their dens in Swarcliffe, Lebanese Cedars standing tall in Wakefield, temples rising up in Hyde Park. These are just a few of the biblical images conjured up by people throughout the Diocese of Leeds as they peer out of their windows during the lockdown.

The Year of the Word 'Window on the Word' initiative involves people taking a photograph of what they see from their window or doorway and matching it to a verse from the Bible. Since its launch after Easter, the organisers have received many wonderfully creative contributions from people of all ages from around the Diocese.

Scripture Champion Deacon Henry Longbottom explains: "The lockdown makes us look more closely at the things happening on our doorstep - and relating this to the Bible is a great way to reflect on the 'God Who Speaks' in our everyday lives."
