Ecumenical appeal for action to help prevent imminent annexation of Palestine

The Israeli government has announced that from 1 July it will bring forward legislation to formally and illegally annex significant parts of occupied Palestine. This announcement has been condemned internationally. In the UK, nearly 140 MPs have signed an unprecedented cross-party letter calling on the Prime Minister to place sanctions on Israel if these plans are carried out.
The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (UK & Ireland) is appealing for British and Irish citizens to write to their parliamentary representatives urging them to take further action. MPs who haven't signed the petition yet are being asked to do so.
Irish citizens are being asked to contact their TDs and Senators to ask that they speak out against the annexation plans and call on the Tánaiste to state publicly that he will place robust sanctions on the Israeli government if the plans are progressed, and support efforts to coordinate joint, meaningful responses at the EU and international level.
They call on Irish citizens to contact their MEPs to ask that they speak out publicly against the annexation plans and demand a strong EU response.
