Schola Cantorum record first performance under lockdown
The Schola Cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in west London, have just put together a recording of their first performance under lockdown: Palestrina's Sicut Cervus - 'As the hart longs for water, so my soul yearns for you, O God'.
Director of Music Scott Price explained: "The way the video was created is that I sent the boys a track to sing along to at home and they wore headphones and sang their part, recording it on their phones. It is a piece that we have sung before so they were familiar with it.
"The boys sent the videos to me and I put them all together. It took a long time to edit it but I am pleased that people seem to have enjoyed it - a number of people have spoken of the solace it has given them at this difficult time for us all."
The choir have dedicated the recording to 'all the brave people working to keep us safe in the NHS.'
