Appeal to fund lifesaving cancer treatment for Chloe
A central London parish has launched an urgent appeal for donations to fund lifesaving cancer treatments for a 10-year-old girl...
Chloe Balloqui, whose family are parishioners at Holy Apostles, Pimlico, is currently fighting Stage Four High Risk Neuroblastoma for a third time, but has run out of treatment options here in the UK.
Consultants believe that a specialist neuroblastoma treatment with chemotherapy and immunotherapy (HITS), in Barcelona, will give her the best chance of recovery. Her parents Karen and Richard are hoping to raise £273,000 to cover costs for step 1 of the imminent treatment plan.
Karen told MyLondon: "If we don't get her there, we are out of options. She's not ready to give up yet and neither are we."
"She's the funniest little girl. Somehow through the last eight years, no matter what has been thrown at her, which has been so much, she still takes it all in her stride."
Chloe's brother James did a 25k walk along the Jurassic Coast with his his godmother Sarah to help his sister.
Parish Priest Fr Pat Browne said the parish school, Westminster Cathedral Primary School, is organising various fundraising events. He said: "Let us all rally round Chloe and her family and give them our support."
