New work by artist Mike Quirke features in Mayfair gallery

Some new work by Catholic artist Mike Quirke features in a group show which opened on Tuesday at 54 the Gallery in Shepherd's Market, Mayfair.

The exhibition: 'Times Like These' which runs to Sunday 25th July . These also has work by Helen Campbell, Adam Lucy, Renee Rilexie, Marianne Frank, Kristina Tonev and Esra Kizir Gokcen

Mike Quirke comments: "These recent works in monoprint and mixed media are inspired by a phrase in the 'Didache'. It reads " Moreover you shall seek out day by day the faces of the saints, that you may find rest in their words." (Didache 4:2). The images presented attempt this engagement, exploring religious personalities and themes in relation to the daily cycle of feasts and celebrations in the Liturgical Year. "

54 The Gallery is at 54 Shepherd's Market, Mayfair, W1J 7QX, London. Open hours: 2-7pm. Sunday 1 -4pm.
