Ten year-old singer Jessie Lou Harvie features, together with hundreds of young people, in this beautiful new music video 'From a Distance' - filmed by Sancta Familia Media in various locations in Glasgow. The song calls on everyone involved in the climate movement but, most especially, the world leaders coming to Glasgow for COP26 in November to act to 'Save Our Common Home'.

Francis Gallagher from Justice and Peace Scotland writes: "We all know just how engaged in the climate movement our young people are, they know that their future is dependent on decisive climate action being taken now and it is therefore immensely important that those world leaders gathering at COP26 hear the voice of our young people and are in no doubt about what is expected of them.

"We would like to thank All Saints RC Secondary School in Glasgow, Our Lady & St Francis Primary School in Carfin, Carfin Grotto, the Caritas Students from Cardinal Newman RC Secondary School in Bellshill, St Maurice's RC Secondary School in Cumbernauld, St Roch's RC Secondary School in Glasgow, the Glasgow Justice & Peace Group for taking part and our special thanks to Jessie Lou Harvie for leading us with her lovely singing voice."

The lyrics are:

From a Distance

by Nanci Griffith

From a distance the world looks blue and green

And the snow-capped mountains white

From a distance the ocean meets the stream

And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance there is harmony

And it echoes through the land

It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace

It's the voice of every man

From a distance we all have enough

And no one is in need

There are no guns, no bombs, no diseases

No hungry mouths to feed

From a distance we are instruments

Marching in a common band

Playing songs of home, playing songs of peace

They're the songs of every man

God is watching us, God is watching us

God is watching us from a distance

From a distance you look like my friend

Even though we are at war

From a distance I can't comprehend

What all this war is for

From a distance there is harmony

And it echoes through the land

It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves

It's the heart of every man

It's the hope of hopes, It's the love of loves

It's the song of every man
